Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

Great product
Just what I was looking for, without batteries and charger as I already had these. It does the job, easy to handle and lightweight. Delivery was prompt - no complaints at all.
Does the job. Nice and light.
I've filled in the review as requested, however the item is as a Christmas present, so not been used yet. I was very impressed by the ordering system and speed of delivery. The price was very fair. The item was well packaged . Being made by Bosch, I have no worries that it might not work, but from reading the reviews left by previous customers, I'm confident that if I do have any issues, I'm reassured that 'Tooled-Up's' customer services team will be able to help.
As most reviews say, it feels a bit lightweight but does the job. And it is compatible with the 18v batteries I already have.
Product and price great but packaging non-existent. Not therefore surprising when the first one went 'missing' in transit as someone no doubt thought 'I'll have one of them' and I had to order a second one. The second was half out of it's OEM packaging by the time it arrived. Amazon delivery also took 2 days longer than stated so product good, experience very ordinary

Q : You have two products on your web site labelled "Bosch EASYHEDGECUT 18-45 18v Cordless Hedge Trimmer 450mm", with a small price difference. Is there any difference between them? Perhaps one is a 2022 model. I was going to ask the same question about the "Bosch EASYGRASSCUT 18-26 18v Cordless Grass Trimmer 260mm", but since I started looking at the site this afternoon, the prices are now the same and one is labelled as new for 2022.
A : Hi Oli, I think you'll find that with these products (and probably any other Bosch home and garden tools you find that share the same names) the only difference between them is the colour scheme. Bosch went through a very brief phase of releasing tools in green and grey, but then reverted back to their classic green and red colours. As far as I know that's the only thing that changed when they rereleased them.
Q : Hi I have Bosch GSR (18-2-Li) professional cordless drill/driver (lightseries), with 1.5h battery (GAL 18V-40) but it does mention battery alliance etc... can the 2 batteries I already have be used for the hedge trimmer??
A : Hi there, I'm afraid the Bosch Professional (Blue) range uses a different battery which isn't compatible with the Home & Garden system. Some more info on battery compatibility is provided in a blue information box at the bottom of the product description if you're interested (Bosch Power4all)

This product carries a full 3 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design. Please note that cordless products will normally have a shorter warranty of just 1 Year for the battery and or charger supplied.
